Sawtelle

Located West of the 405 Freeway, the Sawtelle district was named for a former land manager of the Pacific Land Company, which developed the area in the late 19th century. The neighborhood is home to Sawtelle Japantown - a hub of Japanese businesses and cultural institutions - as well as thriving commercial boulevards such as Olympic, Pico, and Santa Monia.
