Later today, Santa Ana's City Planning Commission will review AMG & Associates' proposal to construct a large senior housing complex on a 3.17-acre site at 2222 E. 1st Street.

The proposed six-story complex would create a total of 419 units of income-restricted housing, served by a 213-car parking structure with 20,000 square feet of open space.  The development site is currently occupied by a small motel, which would be demolished for the project.

AMG has tapped Architects Orange to designed the project, which would abut the Costa Mesa Freeway.  Renderings show a contemporary, with elevation plans indicating a facade of stucco, tile and fiber cement boards.
