More than one year after we last dropped by, progress slowly continues for the conversion of a 1960s Inglewood medical office building into housing.,

The project from Hillcrest Ventures, LLC, an entity managed by Calabasas-based developer Hilldale Group, LLC and Forbix Financial, is adapting the frame of a six-story structure located at 336 E. Hilldale Avenue. Plans call for 65 apartments on the upper floors of the building, while retaining existing podium parking and ground-floor commercial uses.

Relativity Architects is designing the project, which is portrayed in renderings with a contemporary look and a facade of glass and screening of existing parking levels. Plans also call for a rooftop amenity and pool deck.

The project site sits just south of Inglewood's commercial core, which has recently seen the addition of new housing and commercial developments adjacent to the K Line.

Additionally, the Hillcrest property also sits a few blocks from the intersection of Prairie and Manchester Avenues, where a stop is proposed on a new people mover system which would connect the Crenshaw Line with the Kia Forum, the Hollywood Park complex, and Intuit Dome. That plan has recently undergone changes, seeing the relocation of a planned maintenance and storage facility to avoid impacting an existing Vons supermarket on which sits across Nutwood Street from the adaptive reuse project.
