California-based nonprofit EAH Housing plans to redevelop a property 7600 S. Vermont Avenue with a mixed-use affordable housing complex, according to a filing yesterday with the Los Angeles Department of City Planning.

The property, which fronts the southeast corner of Vermont and 76th Street, is currently developed with a series of low-rise commercial buildings.  EAH intends to raze these structures to make way for a four-story edifice that would feature 50 apartments above a 26-car garage.

The developer's website lists a large portfolio, with numerous projects completed in Hawaii and Northern California.

Plans are also in the works for a senior affordable housing complex less than a mile south at 88th Street.
