A pair of single family residences in the Westside neighborhood of Del Rey have made way for a multifamily residential complex.

The project, located at 4505-4513 S. Slauson Avenue, is being developed with a five-story building featuring 23 apartments - including two for very low income households.  The podium-type building will also feature a street level parking garage and a recreation room, per City records.

The development site is located just south of Culver Boulevard, where a handful of similar multifamily developments have risen in recent years.  A 21-unit building by the Schon Tepler Group was recently completed nearby, and 10 small lot houses are proposed for a narrow property adjacent to 4505 Slauson.

An even larger project - a five-story, 47-unit building with ground-floor retail - is planned just east on Culver.
