Just east of the 110 Freeway in Historic South-Central, a storage facility which dates to the early 1920s has made way for...another storage facility.
An orange tower crane now stands tall above the project site at 3625 S. Grand Avenue, where Public Storage is now in the midst of construction for a new eight-story, approximately 230,000-square-foot "mini-warehouse" building which would be accompanied by parking for 40 vehicles and 121 bicycles.

Ware Malcomb is designing the facility, which is portrayed in plans with a contemporary look and an exterior of metal panels - including some in Public Storage's signature orange color. The building would stand approximately 140 feet in height when completed.
The site is located across the 110 Freeway from both USC and Exposition Park, as well as a handful of new residential developments along the Figueroa corridor. The property is also located one block north from the site of a proposed mixed-use apartment complex at 3801 S. Grand Avenue.

Public Storage, in addition to its new South Los Angeles project, is also planning to expand upon one of its existing facilities near the La Cienega/Jefferson Metro Station.
