After more than a year-and-a-half of construction, Sydell Group is now nearing completion on its NoMad hotel in Downtown Los Angeles.

The project is converting Giannini Place, the former Bank of Italy Building at 7th and Olive Streets, into 241 guest rooms with custom finishings and artwork.  Plans also call for ground-floor retail and restaurant space, as well as amenities such as a fitness center, meeting rooms, a rooftop pool and an event deck.

Killefer Flammang Architects designed the conversion, building upon original work from Morgan, Walls & Clements.

The NoMad is the second Downtown hotel for Sydell Group, following the nearby Freehand LA.
