A long-vacant property near SoFi Stadium and Intuit Dome in Inglewood is primed for redevelopment with a Marriott-brand hotel, architecture firm AXIS/GFA has announced.

The new Fairfield by Marriott, planned for a site at 3640 W. Century Boulevard, has already received approvals from Inglewood's Planning Division, according to a representative of the firm. Now, permitting is in progress for the project, which would consist of a new five-story structure featuring 150 guest rooms on its upper floors, with a new ground-floor bar and lounge planned below.

AXIS/GFA's design for the Fairfield Inglewood calls for a contemporary low-rise structure, opening onto an exterior amenity space facing Century Boulevard to the north.

"With a commitment to sustainability, the hotel is on track to achieve LEED Gold certification," reads a narrative released by AXIS/GFA. "Future guests will be able to enjoy the scenic 6th-floor amenity deck, with northern vistas of SoFi Stadium, the Santa Monica Mountains, and the iconic Hollywood Hills beyond. This strategically situated hotel combines the timeless quality of a Marriott brand hotel with forward-thinking, eco-conscious design, aiming to offer a uniquely immersive stay for its guests."

The project is being developed by Bhagat Investments - Century, LLC, which previously owned and operated the Rodeway Inn at 3940 W. Century Boulevard. Property records list the manager of the entity as Jignesh Patel of Manhattan Beach.

According to a representative of AXIS/GFA, construction of the Fairfield is expected to commence in March 2024, with completion set to occur in March 2026. The project received entitlements in September 2023.

The new Fairfield, which was conceived as part of the broader master plan for Intuit Dome, could soon get some company on the opposite side of Century Boulevard, where a 300-room hotel is planned as part of the Hollywood Park development.
