Another blighted property in North Hollywood is making way for a multifamily residential complex.

Excavation is now underway for the Otsego Apartments, a five-story development on a 1.2-acre site bounded by Vineland Place, Otsego and Hartsook Streets.  The completed building would feature 144 apartment units, with amenities such as an interior courtyard, a recreation room, a fitness center and parking for 225 vehicles.

Elevated plans filed with the City of Los Angeles indicate that the project is being designed by Edwin Mohabir Architects, a firm based out of Stevenson Ranch.  Renderings portray a a contemporary design, with exterior finishes including stucco and sheet metal.

Similar developments are now underway nearby on Lankershim and Chandler Boulevards.
