Developer Union & Grattan Properties, LLC is continuing to pursue city approvals to convert a 1960s Pico Union office building into a hotel.  A new flythrough video previews the finished product.

The five-story building, located at 1543 W. Olympic Boulevard, currently features approximately 50,000 square feet of combined office and retail space.  Post-conversion, it would offer 200 guest rooms in addition to ancillary functions.

Corbel Architects is designing the project, which would add decorative lighting and new public art along the exterior of the building.  Existing rootop space would be activated with an observation and amenity deck.

The project is currently scheduled to go before the Los Angeles City Council's Planning and Land Use Management Committee.

Similar hotels are planned at 1700 W. Olympic Boulevard and 2268 W. Pico Boulevard.
