Eight months after breaking ground in Harbor Gateway, nonprofit developer Meta Housing Corp. has completed vertical construction for a two-building affordable housing project.

The ground-up development, located on a formerly vacant lot at the crossing of El Segundo Boulevard and the Harbor Freway, consists of of two four-story structures featuring a total of 160 units reserved for low-income families and the formerly homeless.

Y&M Architects designed both buildings, which feature a mix of studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments.  Units in the 127th Street apartments will command monthly rents between $363 and $545 per month, while units in the adjacent El Segundo building will run between $290 and $1,079 per months.

The two projects have a combined budget of approximately $52 million.
