KTGY Architecture + Planning has unveiled a rendering for the Theo, a new multifamily residential complex now under construction at 289 N. El Molino Avenue in Pasadena.

The project, which comes from Summerhill Apartment Communities, consists of a six-story building feature 105 residential units in addition to open space amenities at the roof and podium levels.  Plans call for a mixture of one- and two-bedroom units, some of which will have townhome-style entrances on the street.

The Theo is named for its next-door neighbor - the Theodore Parker Lukens House - a 19th century Victorian home that is among the oldest in Pasadena.  Summerhill and KTGY worked with Pasadena Heritage and the City of Pasadena Design Community to create a Modernist building to complement its historic surroundings, featuring stepped building heights, private terraces and open space amenities facing the adjacent home.  A parking garage - with accommodations for 154 vehicles - is located entirely underground.

Summerhill started construction on the podium-type development last month, and expects to open the building in August 2019.
