A mixed-use apartment complex has received the go-ahead in the Irvine Business Complex, according to an announcement by architecture firm MVE + Partners.

The proposed development, known as 15 Degrees South, would rise on a property at 2525 Main Street in Irvine, replacing what is now a surface parking lot.  Plans call for a seven-story building which would feature 150 rental units above 3,200 square feet of street-level retail space.

The project, as designed by MVE, is portrayed as a contemporary mid-rise structure wrapped with glass balconies.  Images also show open space amenities such as a recreation room and a rooftop deck.

Per a project representative, the Irvine Business Complex is currently zoned for an additional 320 residential units - of which 15 Degrees South will comprise nearly half.
