One block off of Colorado Boulevard in the Pasadena Playhouse District, real estate firms Mack Urban and Mill Creek Development have unveiled the Andalucia, a new $50-million mixed-use complex.

Located at 686 E. Union Street, the six-story building is designed in the Spanish Revival style, with lush gardens, wrought-iron gates, and a red-tile roof.  It spans across approximately 1.19 acres, and features 118 luxury apartments above 7,600 square feet of ground-floor retail space, a portion of which has been leased to Sierra Custom Kitchens.

The units range from 550 square feet to 1,250 square feet in size, and come in a mixture of studio, one- and two-bedroom apartments and townhomes,.  Rents range from $1,839 to $3,399 per month, with the exception of 11 units that have been set aside as affordable housing.

Each apartment comes equipped with oak-plank flooring, quartz countertops and stainless steel appliances.

The design of both the units and the common spaces are intended to be reminiscent of the 1920s, taking inspiration from the types of buildings that were common in Pasadena and Hollywood during that era.

Mill Creek Development, founded in 2003, is best known for developing projects in and around the Playhouse District.

Mack Urban, based out of Los Angeles, is now in the midst of construction a multi-building development in Downtown's South Park neighborhood.
