Pacific Square Monterey Park rises at 420 Atlantic Boulevard

More than two years after we last checked in, vertical construction is complete for the Pacific Plaza Monterey Park development in Monterey Park.

Located on a two-acre site at 420 N. Atlantic Boulevard, the project replaced a 55-room motel and a 13-unit apartment building with a new five-story building that will feature 136-room hotel, 84 residential units, and 7,125 square feet of ground-floor restaurant space at completion.

Local real estate development firm Pacific Plaza Premier is behind the project, which is shown in renderings as a contemporary low-rise complex with a six-story hotel block facing Atlantic to the west and a smaller five-story residential structure fronting Chandler Avenue to the east.

The company's other projects include a new housing development now taking shape in Alhambra and the Pacific Square complex in San Gabriel.

Several similar developments featuring new hotel rooms and multifamily housing have recently been built on nearby sites along Atlantic Boulevard.
