At the corner of Wilshire Boulevard and La Jolla Avenue, work continues for the hotel conversion of a 1950s office tower.

The 11-story building, previously known as 6399 Wilshire Boulevard, is being transformed by R.D. Olson Construction into the AC Hotel Beverly Hills.  The completed project will offer 176 guest rooms, in addition to outdoor amenity decks and a rooftop wading pool.

According to a project website, the new hotel is set to open in July 2018.

The project, which is being built by R.D. Olson Construction, sits just east of the Los Angeles - Beverly Hills border, midway between the La Cienega and Fairfax stops on the Purple Line extension.

A 15-story apartment tower is planned for a parking lot located across La Jolla Avenue.
