A few blocks west of Metro's Vermont/Santa Monica subway station in East Hollywood, construction is in the home stretch for The Wilcox, a new senior supportive housing complex from San Diego-based Wakeland Housing & Development Corporation.
The project, which spans a block-long site at 4904-4920 Santa Monica Boulevard, consists of a four-story building which will feature 62 apartments formerly unhoused seniors.

"These affordable homes are coupled with robust support services that help residents live more stable, independent lives," reads a project description from the Wakeland website. "Just as in traditional apartment complexes, residents sign long-term leases and must follow specific house rules that ensure quiet, safe enjoyment of the residential community."
FSY Architects is designing the low-rise building, which closely resembles the concept depicted in renderings produced prior to the start of construction.
Completion of The Wilcox is expected in mid-2023.

Wakeland, in addition to the East Hollywood project, has recently build similar housing complexes in Mid-City, South L.A., and Pico Union.
The East Hollywood site sits a few blocks from the intersection of Santa Monica and New Hampshire Avenue, where Little Tokyo Service Center is now in construction at a similar supportive and affordable housing complex.
