Five months after closing on an already entitled development site in Koreatown, developer Jamison Services, Inc. has cleared the property of its existing buildings.

The project site, located at the southeast corner of 8th Street and Harvard Boulevard, is entitled for the construction of a six-story building featuring 131 one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments - including 11 set aside for very-low-income households - above 7,000 square feet of ground-floor commercial uses.  Plans also call for 214 parking spaces on two basement levels, as well as open space amenities such as a roof deck, courtyards, and a fitness room.

Large Architecture is designing the podium-type building, which will be clad with plaster and accented with porcelain tile.

A timeline for the project has not been announced.

Two blocks east at 8th Street and Serrano Avenue, a similar mixed-use building is set to replace a former shopping center.
