Nayssan Properties has demolished a small book store at 1650-1654 S. Sawtelle Boulevard, clearing the way for the construction of a multifamily residential complex in its place.

The project, dubbed Sawtelle Terraces, would consist of a five-story building featuring 48 studio, one- and two-bedroom apartments.  A total of four units would be set aside as affordable housing.

Architect Sam Ghanouni is designing the low-rise structure, which would feature an exterior of cement plaster and zinc panels.  Accessorry features would include three levels of basement parking and a rooftop deck.
