This edition of Throwback Thursday highlights a Broadway institution: the eclectic, multi-level restaurant known as Clifton's Cafeteria.

Clifton's reopened in 2015 following a $10-million renovation by owner Andrew Meierian.  The painstaking restoration was eventually recognized by the Los Angeles Conservancy.

The below images from architectural photographer Hunter Kerhart compare the project while midway through construction in February 2013 with the completed product in June 2017.
