A long vacant lot just east of the Hollywood freeway will yield a multifamily residential development, per documents published by the Los Angeles Department of City Planning.

Wiseman Residential is behind plans to construct a six-story, 74-unit apartment complex on a half-acre property at the corner of Western and Fountain Avenues, which was once improved with a gas station.  The project would set aside seven units for very low income households, while also providing on-site parking for up to 97 vehicles.

Glendale-based Uriu & Associates is designing the podium-type building, which a sole rendering portrays in a contemporary style, with balconies lining all exterior units.

A timeline for the proposed development has not been revealed.

Larger mixed-use buildings are in various states of development north towards Sunset Boulevard, including projects from American Commercial Equities, Reliable Properties, Gemdale Corp. and LaTerra Development.  The half-finished Hollywood Target remains as such.
