In what should by now be a familiar sight to Expo Line passengers, construction is underway for Jimmy Iovine and Andre Young hall at the southern perimeter of the USC campus.  Now the rest of the world can also track its progress thanks to a live camera perched above the project site.

Located at the corner of Exposition Boulevard and Watt Way, the three-story edifice will house the eponymous Jimmy Iovine and Andre Young Academy, which caters to which is billed as combining culture, technology, and business into one cohesive curriculum.  According to a press release from USC, the academy has already produced one startup and has seen its graduates move on to positions with a variety of technology firms.

The academy has thus far operated out of space on the fourth floor of the nearby Ronald Tutor Campus Center.  Its new home will allow for expanding offerings, including space for activities such as 3-D printing, welding, and video editing.

Completion is expected in 2019.

Jimmy Iovine and Andre Young are the co-founders of the headphone maker Beats, and founded the academy with a $70-million donation in 2013.
