The tarp has come down at the corner of Hollywood Boulevard and Argyle Avenue, giving passersby a first glimpse of a first glimpse of the $200-million South Block development.

The project, which comes from DLJ Real Estate Capital Partners and Clarrett West, consists of four seven-story buildings that will feature 507 apartments and approximately 60,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space.

VTBS Architects designed the mixed-use development, which is functionally and aesthetically similar to an earlier phase of the project located across the street - the Eastown apartments.

Completion of the South Block is expected in 2018.
