A few blocks west of the Hollywood/Western subway station, construction has gone vertical for a mixed-use development from Atlanta-based Wood Partners

The seven-story complex, now rising at 5750 Hollywood Boulevard, will feature 161 studio, one-, and two-bedroom apartments - including 14 affordable units - above 5,700 square feet of ground-floor retail and a 271-car basement parking garage.

Designed by Carrier Johnson + CULTURE, the building's facade will consist of metal panels and ceramic tile, arranged to evoke the image of a projector lighting a dark movie theater.

Plans call for a full suite of amenities - including a rooftop deck, courtyards, and a gym - as well as street-fronting shopkeeper units with second-story living spaces connected to ground-floor retail uses.

Completion of 5750 Hollywood is expected in Summer 2020.

Wood Partners also built a similar mixed-use project a few blocks east at 5550 Hollywood Boulevard.
