One year after breaking ground in the City West area, Aragon Properties Corporation is making progress on two multifamily residential developments.

The projects, located on previously vacant sites at 1314-1320 W. Court Street and 1315-132 W. Colton Street, will consist of two six-story structures featuring a combined total of 120 apartments - including 10 very low-income affordable units - and 149 parking spaces.  Plans call for a mix of one- and two-bedroom dwellings with amenities such as a community room and rooftop decks.

Designed by Irvine-based Coe Architecture, the two podium-type buildings will include a facade highlighted by a "strong lattice of white frames" which reference the Los Angeles street grid, according to a landing page on the firm's website.

Similar developments are also under construction on nearby properties at 1363 W. Colton Street and 1246 W. Court Street.

Other projects from Aragon Properties include a five-story, 70-unit apartment complex rising on Glendale Boulevard, and a 204-unit development slated for Sunset Boulevard.
