A mostly-vacant site in South Los Angeles is now approved for the construction of a multifamily residential complex.

The roughly 30,000-square-foot site, located at 1632-1656 W. Florence Avenue, is located in the Broadway-Manchester neighborhood.  Developer Haroni Investments is planning a five-story edifice featuring 128 apartments - including 13 affordable units - with parking for 64 vehicles.

John Kaliski Architects is designing the project, which is depicted as a contemporary low-rise structure clad in stucco.  Architectural plans show that the building would include a ground-floor recreation room, two podium-level courtyards, and two rooftop terrace decks.

According to the architect's website, completion of construction is anticipated in 2021.

Haroni is developing several multifamily residential buildings in South Los Angeles, including projects located on Crenshaw BoulevardHoover Street, and Normandie Avenue.  The company recently completed construction of an apartment building near the Crenshaw/LAX Line's Hyde Park Station.
