Eight months after breaking ground, the concrete frame of Hollywood's next office tower, dubbed Epic, is now six levels above street level.

The 13-story office tower is being developed by Hudson Pacific Properties. Located at 5901 Sunset Boulevard, the development will include over 275,000 square feet of office space, ground-level commercial space, outdoor terraces, a rooftop deck, and a parking garage.

Gensler is designing the building, which features stepped building heights on the northern side of the tower, creating multiple terrace decks ranging from 450 square feet to 6,000 square feet. The original design proposal from 2014 called for an 18-story tower, which was later reduced to 15 stories. After a lawsuit was filed against HPP by the AIDS Healthcare Foundation, a driving force behind the failed Measure S initiative, the tower was shortened to 13 stories

A construction schedule and budget for the project have not been announced. Once completed, Epic will join HPP's other Hollywood developments - the Sunset Bronson Studios expansion, which includes the new 14-story Icon tower, and the upcoming Sunset Gower Studios expansion
