A locally-based real estate investor has filed plans with the City of Los Angeles to redevelop an office complex in the Sawtelle District.

The project site, located at 2255 Sawtelle Boulevard, is currently improved with two buildings totaling roughly 52,000 square feet of rentable space.  Plans call for razing the existing structures to make way for the construction of a new building containing nearly 135,000 square feet of office space.

The proposed development comes from Vantage Property Investors, which is headquartered out of Manhattan Beach.  The company specializes in properties on the West Coast, and was founded by former executives of Center Trust, Inc., Maguire Thomas Partners, and CommonWealth Partners.

Additional details regarding the proposed development are not clear.

Just north on Olympic Boulevard, several other office developments are also in the works.  At 11355-11377 Olympic Boulevard, a proposed expansion and modernization of the 1980s Trident Center recently passed through the L.A. City Planning Commission.  Farther west, plans were recently filed to construct a nine-story, 128,000-square-foot building at 11801 Olympic Boulevard.
