A year-and-a-half after breaking ground in Downtown Glendale, the wood frame of a Marriott Residence Inn hotel is now complete at the corner of Wilson and Louise Avenues.

The project, which is being built by R.D. Olson Construction, consists of a six-story edifice that will contain 147 guest rooms, restaurant space, and a conference center.  It replaced a surface parking lot.

The Spanish Colonial Revival building is designed by WATG.  Architectural plans show guest amenities including a pool deck, and a new paseo and courtyard running south of the project site.

R.D. Olson is building another Marriott hotel - a dual-branded Residence Inn and Courtyard Marriott - in Marina del Rey.

The Louise Avenue project follows on the heels of several recent hotel openings in Downtown Glendale, and offers a prelude to an 857-room hotel planned by Onni Group which would be among the largest in Los Angeles County.
