The last several years have seen a number of Broadway's vintage buildings revived at hotels.  Now, a developer will try for a ground-up project along the corridor.

Yesterday, an entity known as United Broadway, LLC submitted an application to the Department of City Planning for the construction of a 15-story, 67,409-square-foot tower that would feature 139 hotel rooms above a 42-car garage.  The project site is currently improved with a single-tenant retail building and a surface parking lot.

The project applicant appears to be an affiliate of Blue Arch Investments, a Los Angeles-based real estate development firm. Additional details regarding the proposed hotel are currently unclear.

The project site is located just south of the intersection of Broadway and 11th Street, where the historic Case Hotel and Los Angeles Railway buildings are being revived as a Proper Hotel and a Hoxton Hotel, respectively.

Opposite Broadway, the one time home of the Los Angeles Herald Examiner newspaper is being converted into offices.

The development site sits at the border of the Fashion District and South Park.
