Jamison Services, Inc. is moving forward with plans to construct yet another high-rise development in Koreatown.

The latest project, which would replace a surface parking lot near the corner of Wilshire Boulevard and St. Andrews Place, is scheduled to go before the Los Angeles City Planning Commission later this month.  The proposed 16-story tower would create 196 residential units atop a partially subterranean garage, with parking for 301 vehicles and 300 bicycles.  Plans also call for amenities such as a fitness center, a lounge and a dog run.

GMP Architects is designing the contemporary tower, which would rise to a maximum height of 183 feet above street level.  A new slate of renderings points to minor revisions from plans first presented earlier this year.

The project also calls for the preservation of the 1929 Wilshire Professional Building, an Art Deco tower located directly next to the proposed building site.  The 14-story building was named a Los Angeles Historic Cultural landmark in 2015.

Planning staff have recommended that the Commission approve the project.  A budget and timeline have not been revealed.

The tower at Wilshire and St. Andrews is one of several high-rise developments that Jamison has planned through Koreatown.
