Our Lady of Mount Lebanon, a church in Beverly Grove, is looking to couple a rehabilitation of its cathedral with the construction of a new apartment tower.

The project, which would rise at 333 San Vicente Boulevard, calls for a 19-story building featuring 153 apartments - including 17 affordable units - in addition to 31,000 square feet of offices, meeting rooms, and an auditorium for the church.

Nadel Architects is designing the proposed tower, which is being entitled with density bonus incentives which will be aligned with the axis of the existing cathedral while also creating space for a ground-level plaza.  The building's fenestration and the design of its pre-cast panels are inspired by traditional Lebanese stone construction.

The L.A. Business Journal reports that LRM Landscape Architecture and Morillo Construction Inc. are also members of the project team.

Just across the street at 333 La Cienega Boulevard, developer Rick Caruso has obtained approvals to construct a similar 16-story tower.
