The project, filed yesterday with the Department of City Planning, would replace a parking lot at 1522-1538 N. Cassil Avenue with an approximately 100,000-square-foot building featuring 200 residential units - of which - of which 20 would be set aside as affordable housing - and nearly 1,100 square feet of ground-floor retail space. The entitlement application utilizes Transit Oriented Communities affordable housing incentives, including increases to allowable density and floor area, and decreases in required parking, setbacks, and open space.
Permit applications now being reviewed by the Department of Building and Safety indicate that the project would consist of five stories of wood-frame construction atop a three-level concrete podium.
The proposed development, designed by DE Architects, is depicted with a contemporary design in a rendering displayed on the Bond Companies website. An opening date for the project is listed as 2021.
The Real Deal first reported on the project, which is called Inspire Hollywood, in November 2018.
The project site is located a block east of the multi-acre site where Harridge Development recently obtained approvals to construct a $1-billion mixed-use complex known as Crossroads Hollywood.
Bond Companies' other recent Los Angeles projects include a wedge-shaped apartment complex on Temple Street, and a 47-unit development now under construction in Westlake.
