Construction has reached the third floor above ground at the site of a mixed-use development in Del Rey.

The project - which replaced three dwellings and a coin laundry business at Culver and Inglewood Boulevards - will eventually consist of a five-story structure featuring 24 apartments above 620 square feet of ground-floor retail and a 30-car garage.

The apartment building, designed by MIKA Design Group, will consist of four levels of wood-frame construction above a concrete podium.  A rendering shows an exterior lined with metal panels, with setbacks on the top floor used to create an open-air deck.

City records list the project applicant as 4460 Inglewood, LLC, an entity managed by Thomas Turley.

Construction is currently underway for a similar mixed-use project a short distance east on Culver Boulevard.

To the north on Inglewood, construction wrapped up earlier this year for a larger residential-retail complex in Culver City.
