Construction is in full swing for a mixed-use apartment building near the intersection of Adams Boulevard and La Brea Avenue.

The project, located at 5124-5128 W. Adams Boulevard, consists of three-story edifice with two levels of wood-frame construction above a concrete podium.  Plans call for 25 apartments on its upper floors, sitting atop ground-floor retail space and basement parking.

City records indicate that the project was entitled with Transit Oriented Communities incentives, allowing for relief from certain zoning restrictions in exchange for reserving a portion of the apartments as affordable housing.

ShubinDonaldson is designing the apartment building, according to construction permits.

The project, which is being built by CIM Group, is one of a handful of similar mixed-use apartment buildings built on Adams Boulevard by the Mid-Wilshire-based firm.  Other projects are currently under construction or have been recently completed at 5135, 5263, 5300, and 5301 W. Adams Boulevard.
