Disney intends to construct a new hotel at the west end of the Downtown Disney shopping and entertainment district in Anaheim, per an official announcement on the company's website.

The project, described as a "Four Diamond hotel," is scheduled to break ground next year.  Plans call for 700 guest rooms, as well as public spaces, gardens, food and beverage venues, with direct access to Disneyland via the theme park's monorail system.

Completion is expected in 2021.
