A pair of single-family homes in the Harvard Heights community could be redeveloped with an affordable housing complex, according to an application recently submitted to the City of Los Angeles.

The proposed development, slated for two parcels at 1043-1049 S. Harvard Boulevard, calls for the construction of a four-story edifice containing 47 apartments - including 46 affordable units and one manager's unit.

City records list the project's applicant as an entity affiliated with Daylight Community Development.  The Los Angeles-based firm is also behind proposed affordable housing complexes in Watts and North Hollywood.

The Harvard Heights site, located just south of Olympic Boulevard, is within walking distance of two recent market-rate developments from Jamison Services, Inc.

West Hollywood Community Housing Corp. is planning a similar affordable housing development a few blocks west at Mariposa Avenue.
