The move, announced today, will bring 250 employees to a 62,000-square-foot facility near SpaceX headquarters. Ring's new home, located at 12515 Cerise Avenue, will repurpose an existing warehouse as an office campus, which is being designed by Los Angeles-based architecture firm M-Rad.
The new space would be centered around a grand atrium, with clearance for 30-foot trees.
Ring's doorbells, which are equipped with security cameras that stream live HD video and two-way audio to mobile devices, are currently used by over 2 million households, according to a statement released by the company.
Vella Group, a New York-based real estate firm, is developing the new facility. The company is also a partner in a proposed Bjarke Ingels-designed tower complex along the L.A. River in Downtown Los Angeles.
Ring's new campus is located just east of an approximately 2.5-acre property at Crenshaw Boulevard where the Houston-based Dinerstein Cos. has announced plans to construct a mixed-use complex featuring 230 apartments and ground-level retail space.
Other Amazon subsidiaries, including Amazon Studios and IMDB, are set to leave Santa Monica for a new campus centered around the historic Culver Studios in Culver City.
