A mixed-use development has broken ground on the site of a former state office building in Downtown Long Beach.

AMLI Park Broadway, located at 245 W. Broadway, spans a full city block between Pacific and Cedar Avenues.

Developer AMLI Residential is constructing a six-story story edifice, which will feature 222 residential units above 8,500 square feet of ground-level retail space and an underground parking garage.

The project is portrayed with a contemporary look, featuring staggered building heights to match the context of the surrounding neighborhood.

AMLI's development adds to a growing number of major projects underway in the downtown area, including the new Long Beach Civic Center, the Shoreline Gateway complex, and the Oceanaire project.
