According to pictures taken by an e-mail tipster, construction is underway on 10777 Wilshire Boulevard, a new residential development in Westwood's Condo Canyon.

The low-rise complex, which is being developed by Palisades Capital Partners LLC, will consist of a seven-story structure featuring 56 luxury apartments and 150 parking stalls.  Plans call for a slew of residential amenities, including a fitness center, a meditation garden, concierge service and an on-site salon.  The building would also feature an accessible rooftop patio, offering views of Westwood and the Santa Monica Mountains.

The project is being designed by GMP Architects, a Los Angeles-based firm with extensive experience in multi-family residential developments.  Their plans for 10777 Wilshire call for a variety of high-quality finishes that mimic the feel of a contemporary boutique hotel.  The building greets residents with a stone-clad motor court, which gives way for a spacious lobby and reception area, featuring mahogany paneling and a private wine cellar.  Residences will consist of a mixture of one-and-two-bedroom floor plans, each featuring their own private roof terrace.

Proposed 77-Story Tower Would Be L.A.'s Tallest Building

Chinese developer plans the tallest building West of the Mississippi River.

Last year, the Wilshire Grand claimed the title of the West Coast's tallest building, with a slender spire that peaks 1,100 feet above Downtown Los Angeles.  But a newly proposed tower just up the street seems to be gunning for its crown at the highest tower west of the Mississippi River.

Last week, Chinese developer Shenzhen New World Group filed plans with the City of Los Angeles to redevelop the 1980s L.A. Grand Hotel Downtown at 333 S.
