Vertical construction is proceeding for Talaria, a mixed-use development in Burbank Media District.

Located on a 3.86-acre site at 3401 W. Olive Avenue, the five-story building will feature 241 residential units atop a 43,000-square-foot ground-floor Whole Foods Market.  Plans also call for a 760-car parking garage, as well as amenities uch as a swimming pool, a common area great lawn and a gym.

VTBS Architects is designing the podium-type complex, which is portrayed in renderings as a contemporary low-rise structure.

The project, which comes from the Cusumano Group, is scheduled to open in 2018.

Western Avenue Great Streets Project Expands in Scope

An extra $200,000 could pay for more items from a community wish list.

The people-friendly makeover imagined for Western Avenue through Mayor Eric Garcetti's Great Streets Initiative could be getting a little bit grander in scope.

The project, dubbed "Welcome to Western," is intended to bring commercial facade improvements, new street trees, and public art installations to Western Avenue between 3rd Street in the south and Melrose Avenue in the north.  LA Más, the non
