Developer Mike Harrah has taken another step forward with plans to construct a $100-million mixed-use complex on two City-owned properties at the intersection of 3rd Street and Broadway in Downtown Santa Ana.

Harrah's project, which was selected over four competing proposals in March 2017, calls for the construction of two mid-rise buildings featuring 160 apartments, 106 hotel rooms, public parking and a mix of retail and restaurant space.  Much of the parking would be built in a 10-story structure, which would be built by the City of Santa Ana.

A hotel operator has not been identified, although a City document points to an operation similar to a Hilton Garden Inn.

Conceptual renderings of the project issued with a 2014 request for proposals were created by John Kaliski Architects.

Senior Affordable Housing Opens Near Orange County's Great Park

The two-building development features 157 apartments.

Developers Related California and FivePoint have opened a new affordable housing complex near Irvine's Great Park.  The project, called Luxaira, features 157 residential units catering to low-income seniors.  It is the second senior affordable development to be built in the Great Park neighborhoods by Related, FivePoint, and collaborator RCC Charitage.  To date, more than 500 affordable housing units have been built around the park in four separate projects.
