After more than two years of construction, completion is nearing for a five-story apartment complex located just west of Downtown Los Angeles.

The project, located on a previously vacant lot at 742-746 S. Hartford Avenue, features 24 studio, one- and two-bedroom apartments, as well as a 39-car garage and a rooftop deck.

The contemporary podium-type building was designed by architect Daryoush Safai.

A 12-story apartment tower has been proposed for a property located immediately north.

The Community Corporation of Santa Monica is pursuing the development of a new senior affordable housing complex just south of the 10 Freeway.
