Architecture firm Togawa Smith Martin has offered up a new rendering for 6th at Central, the the latest residential-retail development planned for Downtown's Industrial District.

Slated for a one-acre property at 601 S. Central Avenue, the project would consist of an eight-story building featuring 225 market rate apartments, 11 units of very low income housing, approximately 12,000 square feet of retail space and underground parking for 305 vehicles.

The rendering shows a contemporary mid-rise structure, highlighted by a cut-out in the facade that opens to an interior courtyard.  The sharp corner at the southeast property line is used to create an outdoor plaza.

Ownership records link the project site to the Klein Family, which also controls the Factory Place Arts Complex.  The property is currently improved with a small shopping center.
