The Los Angeles City Planning Commission is scheduled to review the Santa Monica/Granville development, the latest collaboration between CIM Group and architecture firm LOHA.

Slated for the former site of an automobile dealership at 11752 W. Santa Monica Boulevard, the proposed mixed-use complex would consist of a five-story building with 154 apartments above 15,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space and underground parking for 311 vehicles.  Plans also call for a mixture of live/work quarters and studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments, of which 16 would be set aside for very low income households.

The proposed building is split into three sections, divided by an open-air courtyard and a pool deck.  Other planned amenities include a fitness center, a clubhouse and co-working spaces.

Elevation plans indicate that the building would be wrapped with a facade of textured metal panels, similar to the neighboring Santa Monica Westgate development, another collaboration between CIM and LOHA.

According to the project's initial study, construction at Santa Monica and Granville would occur over approximately two years, with completion as early as 2019.

The Planning Department has recommended that the Commission approve the development.
