Renderings have emerged for 1000 Vermont, a mixed-use development planned for a full city block in Koreatown.

The project, as detailed in a proposed mitigated negative declaration, calls for the construction of a seven-story edifice featuring up to 228 residential units and over 53,000 square feet of commercial uses.  Plans also call for underground parking for 563 vehicles.

Plans call for a mixture of studio, one- and two-bedroom dwellings, as well as various amenities such as a fitness center.

Local architecture firm EWAI is designing the podium-type development, which would feature a colorful facade, broken up with alternating colors and facade patterns.  Plans also call for a large courtyard which would front Vermont Avenue atop the podium.

Construction of 1000 Vermont is expected to occur over approximately 20 months.  The environmental review projects a groundbreaking in late 2018, leading to a completion date in mid-2020.

The project, which comes from Maxsum Development, is the latest in a string of new commercial and residential buildings starting to take form at the south edge of Koreatown along Olympic Boulevard.  Jamison Services is currently wrapping up work on a similar building nearby.
