In the Hollywood Media District, construction is now underway for a pair of mid-rise buildings that will provide production space for companies in the entertainment industry.

At 1001 N. Orange Drive, work has progressed above street level for a six-story structure that will feature two floors of production space atop a four-story parking podium.  The property was previously home to standalone industrial building which was destroyed by a fire in 2014.

Permit records from the Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety indicate that the Culver City office of Shubin + Donaldson Architects is designing the project.  The firm has also designed residential and office buildings one block east on La Brea Avenue.

Across the street at 953 N. Sycamore Avenue, excavation is now in process for an eight-story structure which will provide approximately 150,000 square feet of production space.  The building, which is being designed by LOHA, would sit atop a two level underground parking garage.

Renderings of the project are currently unavailable.
