LPC West, the Southern California subsidiary of Lincoln Property Company, is continuing with the construction of a new office campus at the former site of the Musician's Union in Hollywood

The property, located at 817 N. Vine Street, involves rehabbing the Musician Union's former headquarters - a two-story building - with 30,000 square feet of office space around a central courtyard.  Immediately north, a former surface parking lot has been razed to make way for the construction of a three-story, 52,000-square-foot standalone building, as well as a three-level, 171-car parking garage located on the west side of the lot.

HLW International is designing the project, which removes a driveway off of Vine Street to create a new main entrance for the existing building - which dates to the 1950s.  The new building to the north will echo the form of its older neighbor, which was designed by the architect Gordon B. Kaufmann.

LPC West expects to complete construction of 817 Vine in early 2019.  The project is being designed to appeal to entertainment, technology, and media firms.

Though smaller in scale, the 817 Vine development is similar to Kilroy Realty's Columbia Square, which rehabbed a former CBS Radio facility and added new office buildings and an apartment tower on an abutting parking lot.
