Over the past several years, numerous properties surrounding Metro's Wilshire/Vermont Station have been targeted for redevelopment.  However, the gas station at 3201 Wilshire Boulevard has remained a stubborn outlier.  At least until now.

Earlier today, plans were filed with the City of Los Angeles for a project that would raze the gas station and construct a 16,800-square-foot CVS Pharmacy in its place.  The applicant is proposing 24-hour operations and alcohol sales for off-site consumption.

The nearly half-acre project site is located directly across the street from Wilshire/Vermont Station, which is capped by an apartment complex of the same name.  Across the street, a larger mixed-use complex featuring two high-rise towers was completed in 2014.

Immediately north of the CVS property, plans are also in the works for a 33-story condo and hotel development, as well as a mid-rise structure which would house the new Korean American National Museum.
