At its meeting later this week, the Anaheim Planning Commission will consider a proposal to construct a Hilton Garden Inn and Home2Suites near Disneyland.

Nara Investments, LLC is pursuing of the development of the dual-branded hotel, which would rise from a 2.5-acre site at 1414 and 144 Manchester Avenue, immediately west of the 5 Freeway.  Plans call for a six-story building which would feature a combined 223 hotel rooms, in addition to 1,516 square feet of retail space, 975 square feet of meeting space, amenities, and two levels of basement parking for 200 vehicles.

The hotel would consist of a single 84-foot-tall building, with a contemporary design featuring an exterior of glass, metal, and limestone.

A staff recommendation to the Planning Commission supports the approval of the project, which requires a general plan amendment and a specific plan amendment, amongst other entitlements.

The developer, Nara Investments, has also built a 101-room Holiday Inn Express next-door to the Manchester site, and currently operates a 108-room Quality Inn which would be demolished to make way for the proposed hotel.
